At some point in their journey, everyone faces end-of-life issues. LIFESPAN Good Samaritan Hospice Care is here to help you and your loved ones through one of life’s most difficult times.

“Hospice” is a philosophy. Although Hospice does not concern itself with curing the disease, and instead focuses on promoting the comfort and dignity of the individual, “healing” is still an essential concept in this care philosophy! The dimensions in which healing can occur are in the psychosocial dimension, when emotional stress and loss issues are resolved, or in the spiritual dimension.

A team effort is required to provide those facing life-limiting illnesses with the dignity, care, and comfort needed to experience the most joy and fulfillment possible in the time that remains. Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Care allows patients to maintain as much control as possible over their life choices, for as long as possible throughout the illness process.

• Physician’s medical direction of the patient’s care
• Regular visits by a registered nurse who is available 24 hours a day
• Certified home care aide
• Medical equipment and supplies for management of the terminal illness
• Medications related to managing the terminal illness
• Counseling services, including dietary counseling
• Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy as appropriate
• Social worker
• Pastoral and spiritual care
• Volunteer services
• Bereavement services
• Continuous care to manage brief periods of crisis

Hospice services can be initiated by you or your doctor. If you or your family call we will contact your physician to get approval if you need more information before you make a decision, Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice can answer your questions over the phone or schedule a time to meet with you and your family.
